Career Planning and Job Finding Training Meeting Held in Our Department
A meeting was held by job and vocational counselors to organize a training program for students of the Handicrafts and Design Departments of our Technical Sciences Vocational School (TBMYO). The meeting was organized on 30/10/2024 in cooperation with our university's KARGEM unit. It was held with the participation of Handicrafts Department Head Lecturer Mikail Sevindik and Handicrafts department instructors Lecturer Dr. Abdulkadir Öznülüer and Lecturer Emre Koç and Design Department Head Lecturer Serdar Dik and Vocational Counselors Elif Doğan Şahin and Mehmet Ali Ay from the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) Muş Provincial Directorate.
At the meeting held in the Department of Handicrafts and Design Building, discussions were held to organize a training program for our students on career planning, job search processes and job search strategies by İŞKUR. The aim of the training is to provide students with information and skills regarding job and profession choices and to raise awareness on career change and job search issues.
A detailed plan was made at the meeting for the training program planned to be held in November. In the training planned to last one day, students from both departments will be informed on topics such as determining suitable professions for themselves, effective job search techniques, personal branding, CV and portfolio creation, interview techniques and motivational methods.
After the training, participants will be given a certificate of participation regarding the topics covered in the training and students will be able to plan their career processes more consciously. It was stated that this training aims to equip our students with the necessary preliminary knowledge and skills before they enter business life.
It was emphasized that the training program, which is considered important for the students of the department, will contribute to students gaining a stronger place in the labor market after graduation.
