The opening of the ‘Architectural Decorative Arts Program Graduation Exhibition’, which includes the works of the 2nd year students of the Architectural Decorative Arts Program of the Department of Handicrafts of our Vocational School of Technical Sciences, was held in the foyer area of 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center by our rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa ALICAN on 10/06/2024. The exhibition opening was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar KARADAĞ, Secretary General Harun Demir, Muş Type E Closed Penal Institution Director Ferhat Tuncay, TBMYO Director Fatih Şevgin, academic staff and students.
In his opening speech, Rector Alican touched on the importance of art and artists in society and expressed that he wholeheartedly supports all kinds of artistic activities. Rector Alican visited the exhibition and received information about the works from the instructors and students.
In the exhibition made by the students of the Architectural Decorative Arts program within the TBMYO Handicrafts Department; Approximately 165 works, compiled from works designed and implemented in courses such as Illumination Design, Tile, Ceramics, Jewelry Design, Marbling Art, Original Printing, Basic Art Education, Pencil Work, Calligraphy, Wood Art, were presented to the guests who came to the exhibition.
Head of the Department of Handicrafts, Lecturer Mikail SEVİNDİK; “Our department, which opened in 2017, has regularly opened graduation exhibitions every semester. Our 2024 graduation exhibition is one of these and I congratulate our students. Our department is employed in courses opened by National Palaces, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Museums, Public Education Directorates, Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, Governorships and Municipalities with KPSS. As department instructors, we were very happy to introduce the various works prepared by our Architectural Decorative Arts Program 2nd year students in the workshops of Illumination Design, Tile, Ceramics, Jewelry Design, Marbling Art, Original Printing, Basic Art Education, Pencil Work, Calligraphy, Wood Art, with great efforts during the two-year academic year, to the guests who were present at the exhibition opening on behalf of Muş Alparslan University, Technical Sciences Vocational School and Handicrafts Department.
Since it is a two-year associate degree program, I would like to thank our department instructors Lecturer Emre KOÇ and Lecturer Abdulkadir ÖZNÜLÜER for their efforts in preparing the students for the sector and helping them move from their original designs to the implementation stage during the education and training process from 2022 to 2024, and for always being there and guiding them.
The exhibition, which was open between June 10-11, ended with a group photo with the students.
