The "Metamorphosis" Exhibition Meets Art Lovers.
The exhibition titled "Metamorphosis," featuring works by Lecturer Dr. Abdulkadir Öznülüer, an academic staff member of the Handicrafts Department at our University's Technical Sciences Vocational School (TBMYO), opened to art lovers at the Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University (EBYÜ) Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Büyükkasap Congress and Culture Center Exhibition Hall. The opening, attended by EBYÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Akın Levent, academics, students, and numerous art enthusiasts, was realized through a collaboration between our University and EBYÜ.
The exhibition included a total of 45 works, each a standalone exhibition, by Lecturer Dr. Abdulkadir Öznülüer and EBYÜ faculty members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Güler and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Öznülüer. The works centered on the concept of transformation, focusing on social transformation and symbolic transformation.
The exhibition presented the effects of rapidly changing production methods and technological innovations in the modern world on social structures and symbolic expressions through a powerful visual language. The aim of the exhibition was to make visible the artistic dimension of transformation and to invite viewers on an intellectual journey along this axis.
In his evaluations of the exhibition, Lecturer Dr. Abdulkadir Öznülüer stated that he uses collage and assemblage techniques in his works as a rhythm that reorganizes fragmented cultural memory. In a statement regarding the works featured in the exhibition, Öznülüer said, “In my works, I use collage and assemblage techniques as a rhythm that rearranges fragmented cultural memory. Newspaper clippings, poster fragments, street writings, and iconographic faces are filtered from the visual cacophony of the age and combined in a new composition. The paint rollers I placed in the center of the composition represent both the physical trace of the artist's intervention and the reconstruction of the image. Images that come together in layers make the multiplicity of our memory visible. My works reveal that contemporary art is about flow and transformation against the constant, simultaneously pointing to the wholeness of the fragmented and the possibility of the whole being fragmented.”
Dr. Öznülüer also thanked the Rector of Muş Alparslan University, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican, and the Director of the Technical Sciences Vocational School, Dr. Fatih Şevgin, for their support of the exhibition process.
Following the opening, participants toured the exhibition and received information about the works from the artists.
