Handicrafts Department 1st-Year Orientation Meeting Held

A 1st-year orientation meeting was held for students newly enrolled in the Architectural Decorative Arts Program of the Handicrafts Department for the 2026-2027 academic year. The meeting aimed to support the students' adjustment to the higher education environment, the department, and the program; to provide information regarding educational activities; and to raise awareness about academic life. Overview of academic, social, cultural, and psychosocial support services and university facilities available to students
Evaluation of professional development, career planning, and employment opportunities in the field of handicrafts

Gathering student opinions, suggestions, expectations, and questions

During the meeting, students were informed about the academic structure, educational process, course conduct, registration and attendance requirements, assessment procedures, and academic advising services of the Handicrafts Department and the Architectural Decorative Arts Program. In addition, the rules regarding the use of workshops where practical training takes place, occupational health and safety matters, and the academic and administrative responsibilities incumbent upon students were explained.

Students were informed about the processes for utilizing the university's digital information systems, online educational resources, library and student support services, as well as social and cultural activities. Furthermore, emphasis was placed on the importance of professional development, career planning, and participation in academic and professional activities—such as exhibitions, projects, and competitions—within the field of Architectural Decorative Arts.

The meeting also addressed the quality assurance system and the significance of student participation in educational processes; it was noted that student views, suggestions, expectations, and feedback would contribute to the improvement of these processes. Students' questions were answered, and clarifications were provided regarding topics of interest concerning the university, the department, and the program.

The orientation meeting aimed to enhance students' knowledge of the program, support their adaptation to the academic and social environment, raise awareness regarding educational processes, and encourage active student participation in quality assurance procedures. The meeting concluded after gathering student views and suggestions and conducting a general evaluation.
