Recognition of Prior Learning Commission Meeting Held
Activities were carried out to support the adaptation of first-year students—newly enrolled in the Architectural Decorative Arts Program within the Department of Handicrafts—to the higher education environment, the department, and the program; to inform them about educational activities; and to raise their awareness regarding academic life. Additionally, a meeting of the Recognition of Prior Learning Commission was held to manage the application processes for the recognition of students' prior learning, evaluate the documents and certificates submitted with the applications, and address the process in accordance with academic criteria.

Evaluation of applications regarding the recognition of prior learning.
Examination of the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired by students through formal, non-formal, and informal learning.

It was noted during the meeting that there were four students to be evaluated under the scope of the recognition of prior learning. The courses previously taken by the students in question and those planned for the current academic term have been examined in a comparative and transparent manner, taking into account course contents and learning outcomes. During the evaluations, care was taken to consider the knowledge and skills the students had previously acquired and to ensure they did not suffer any loss of rights or disadvantage during their educational processes.
The evaluation process was guided by a holistic approach to the students' academic status, the determination of the alignment between their prior learning and the learning outcomes of the relevant courses, and a commitment to making decisions that are objective, evidence-based, and traceable. Accordingly, the students' cases were reviewed within the framework of the decisions and evaluation criteria specified below.
