Career Training Program Organized for Handicrafts Department Students with Collaboration of İŞKUR and KARGEM
The "Job Club Training" organized for the second-year students of the Handicrafts Department of Technical Sciences Vocational School (TBMYO) was successfully completed in cooperation with our university's Career Development Application and Research Center (KARGEM) and İŞKUR Campus Office.
The training was held on December 3, 2024 at 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center D Hall. The event, organized for students to gain important skills for business life after graduation, was coordinated by KARGEM Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Salih Gülen and conducted by İŞKUR Business and Career Advisor Elif Doğan Şahin.
In the training, which lasted all day, students received in-depth information about the skills they will need to achieve success in business life. The main topics covered in the training included critical topics such as employability skills, personality tests in recruitment, resume preparation techniques, job search channels, preparation for job interviews, body language and phone interviews, and interview techniques.
During the training, students received important advice and practical information regarding the professional business world, while also receiving valuable tips that will contribute to their personal development. İŞKUR Expert Elif Doğan Şahin provided job and career consultancy to each student, helping them plan their careers, and provided detailed information about the process.
Handicrafts Department Head Lecturer Mikail Sevindik emphasized the importance of the organized Job Club Training, and stated that such trainings play a critical role in students being competitive in the labor market after graduation. Lecturer Sevindik said, “Such trainings not only improve our students’ theoretical knowledge, but also prepare them for the practical challenges they will encounter in the business world, allowing them to make a strong start in their professional lives. As the Handicrafts Department, we attach great importance to organizing such training programs in order to support the career development of our students. Thanks to the support provided to these processes, we are helping our students build a more solid future. I would like to thank the coordination and teaching team of the education process, the TBMYO administration for their support, and our Lecturer Emre Koç, who serves as the career counselor of the departments, for their contributions.” At the end of the training, participation certificates were presented to the students by İŞKUR Expert Elif Doğan Şahin. It was stated that the training contributed to the students building their transition to business life on more solid foundations. The Business Club Training organized in cooperation with KARGEM and İŞKUR was completed with great success in order to ensure that the students take a solid step into the business world.
