Technical Sciences Vocational School Handicrafts Department Offered Young Artists the Opportunity to Develop Their Skills with Ceramics
In the training program organized in cooperation between Technical Sciences Vocational School (TBMYO) and Şehit Yücel Kurtoğlu Fine Arts High School, 12th grade high school students were offered the opportunity to get to know ceramics and develop their skills.

The training, which focused on the production of three-dimensional ceramic objects with the plate method, was given by MAUN TBMYO Handicrafts Department academic staff member Lecturer Emre Koç.

In the training, which took place in TBMYO's ceramics workshop, students experienced the process of shaping ceramic clay in practice. Students who produced different objects such as cups, vases and plates both gained technical knowledge and had the opportunity to create their own original designs. During the training process, students learned the characteristics of ceramic clay, learned shaping methods and demonstrated their creativity through free work.

Evaluating the training, Lecturer Emre Koç said, “It was a great pleasure for me to be together with future artists and teach them the basics of making ceramics. It is a source of pride to contribute to students' production of original works during this process. I would like to thank our valuable principal Turhan Sur, who contributed to the coordination of this study, and our university administration, who have always supported us. One of the most important gains was to see students express their talents more strongly by developing their clay shaping skills,” he said.

Şehit Yücel Kurtoğlu Fine Arts High School Principal Turhan Sur emphasized the importance of the program for students and said the following:
“This collaboration with MAUN TBMYO offered our students a unique educational opportunity. Our students, who learned the basics of ceramics, developed both their technical skills and their creative aspects. This training, which was conducted under the guidance of Lecturer Emre Koç, was very productive within the scope of our career day activities. We would like to thank him and our university administration for their valuable contributions. We believe that such collaborations will inspire our students and contribute to their future artistic success. The training allowed our students to produce original works.”

This work, which was carried out in the ceramics workshop, allowed the young people to develop both their technical skills and creativity, while also enabling them to produce original works by combining the traditional art understanding of Muş with a modern approach. The training program ended with the students expressing their satisfaction and taking a group souvenir photo.
