Alparslan Primary School Students Visit Our Ceramics Workshop
Alparslan Primary School 1-A class students located on our university campus, under the guidance of their class teacher Yunus Saraç, enlivened the ceramics workshop located in the Department of Handicrafts of Technical Sciences Vocational School (TBMYO) with a pleasant visit.
TBMYO Director Dr. Lecturer Fatih Şevgin, Handicrafts Department academic staff Lecturer Emre Koç and Lecturer Abdulkadir Öznülüer accompanied the students during the organized visit. The students had the opportunity to develop their manual skills and experience art with clay lathe making in the ceramics workshop. Stating that the ceramics workshop visit is an experience that will allow children to gain skills that will support their physical and cognitive development, Lecturer Emre Koç, ceramics instructor of the Handicrafts Department, said, “Art is a powerful learning and development tool that can provide a number of benefits for every age group. Considering that art encourages creativity, increases attention and focus skills, develops social skills through cooperation, and develops motor skills, this visit will be even more meaningful for our little guests. The students had the opportunity to develop their manual skills and experience art by getting to know clay lathe making in our ceramics workshop. I would like to thank their class teacher Yunus Saraç and our Vocational School Director Dr. Lecturer Fatih Şevgin for providing this opportunity to the children.”
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, TBMYO Director Dr. Lecturer Şevgin said, “We were very happy that Alparslan Primary School students visited the TBMYO Handicrafts Department ceramics workshop. Our students had the opportunity to experience art by getting to know ceramics. I would like to thank our Handicrafts Department teachers who guided the students in the ceramics workshop and our class teacher Yunus Saraç who contributed to the organization of the visit. We are grateful to them for their contributions to our little guests’ introduction to art. I believe that such events will continue to make positive contributions to the educational lives of our students, and I would like to state that we are open to similar events in the future," he said. The visit ended after the students experienced discovering art through clay lathe making and expressed their gratitude to their teachers and department instructors.
